View of the Trinity Monastery of St, Sergius, Sergievo, Russia, one of the important architectural and historical monuments of medieval Russia, founded in 1340 and endowed with tremendous riches. It shows one dome of the five-domes Uspensky Cathedral, built in the 16th century and containing the tomb of Boris Godunoff. Left of the is the 18th century belfry of the monastery, one of the most remarkable in Russia, and firther left is the Troitsky (Trinity) Cathedral, begun in 1427and containing a collection of ecclesiastical metal work textlies and ikons.
