Inscriptions

Text: On vertical column on the front of the figure: ancient text, ‘Foremost of the westerners (i. e., of the dead), lord of Busiris, the great god, lord of Abydos’; top of the base is inscribed with a variation of the Pyramid Text utterance 368. Modern text on bottom of base: Arabic 2395 or 4295, no doubt a dealer’s mark.
