Obverse: Bearded, laureate male head right. Frame all the way around, clearest from 10:00-2:00. Inscribed clockwise, inward, from 8:00-11:00: SEVERVS; from 2:00-5:00: PIVS AVG Reverse: Fully draped figure seated facing outwards on lion. Figure's head covered with large headdress, right arm extended, holding object (lightning bolt?), left arm holding staff or spear. Lion leaping right over water flowing from rock at lower left. Inscribed clockwise, inward, from 9:00-12:00: INDVLGENTIA; from 1:00-4:00: TIA AVGG; outward, in exergue: INCARTH; frame from 4:00-2:00, dots discernible from 9:00-12:00; axis up; "N" scratched on outer edge at 6:00 obverse.
