Obverse: Laureate head of Augustus right. Legend: [CAE]SAR AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER P[ATRIAE], beginning at 5 o'clock, counterclockwise, letters facing outwards. Reverse: Two figures, frontal, togate, and capite velato, identified by the legend as Gaius and Lucius Caesar; each rests an inside hand on one of two shields which stand upright between them; behind the shields two spears on the diagonal; above, in the field, between them, a simpulum (left) and a lituus (right). Legend: C L CAESARES in exergue; AVGVSTI F COS DESIG PRINC IVVENT, from 4 o'clock, counter-clockwise, letters facing outward.
