Jess T. Dugan’s portraits capture personal intimacies, especially in queer lives. The two on view here express the love of a longtime couple and the self-love of someone who is enjoying their body in a moment of euphoria. The portfolio, titled Every Breath We Drew, is made up of ten photographs—both portraits and still lifes—in a custom-designed clamshell box. The works’ subjects usually fill the frame, bathed in a gentle light that reflects the quiet, self-contained moments Dugan favors.
